A smile from sky

A smile from sky

Worst turmoil strikes the world,
Fiscal face gives a droopy look,
A decade passed as records hold,
Since sky it self gave a similar look.
It marked conflicts and severe gripes,
And ruthless massacres of helpless blacks.

Now that Venus, Jupiter and moon align,
To smile at us from miles above;
Is it an omen of hopeful signs?
To clear the dark clouds now hover above.
May the cosmic merriment bloom our lives!
As nature lovers smile at smile that’s far at miles.

Why the east and not the west?
Had witnessed this atypical sight;
Why had sky smiled at east, not the rest?
Our wits should reach a greater height!
Fallacy draws unforeseen conclusions.
Soothsayers fill their bags at darker junctions!

The magnificent alignment as a smile of love,
Brought friends apart in same alignment;
And filled the hearts though far apart with joy and love.
Unforeseen to most is this love alignment;
Which strengthened bonds to last for years,
Till a similar smile brightens the sky in three decades.

A mob of words

A mob of words

A mob of words revolted in my mind,
As I lay in bed with open eyes;
With urges to give them a true worldly life:
They didn’t spare me though it was the middle of night;
I sipped some tea to open my book of mind,
As I'd never let a word to think that I’m unkind.

Now I know that Milton, Shakespeare and Keats alike,
Would’ve spent more nights with open eyes,
As massive fleets of words awaited their mere command,
Till oceans' depth, length and width with curious eyes;
When I cannot hold my self from keying the words as they would like:
It’s just my fate that I would die with fewer words in my command, belike!

I wish I could bring more words to life,
Till my senses grow with open eyes:
If fate permits to get them a plot on earth,
As long as earth is earth and not of ashes:
May God offer them lot of love and a cherished life!
And let my offspring’s feel my love for them in every word’s life.

The Storm

Eye of heaven dimmed at once,
As ferocious winds conquered the sky;
Uprooting most loved green trees on earth
And filling the sky with darkest clouds.

It seemed as doom was just next door,
As thunder roared more fierce than lions
And bolts of lightning burnt the earth;
Leaving no sign of hope ahead.

Will the sun ever rise?

Will the sun ever rise?

I watched the sun as it set,
With a dismal look on its face;
The face of the sky gave me more threat,
As the sun went down without a trace.

The light which gave my soul more life,
The hue which shone my face so bright,
As bubbles popped by tip of a knife,
Vanished from sight, depriving me of light.

It is well-known that the earth is round,
And sun gives light to a half at a time;
If joy is more in spreading light on the other ground,
The sun may stay there to end of time.

Without the beams of sun any more,
The darkness will call forth my death;
The sky is dark, look there no more,
Close your eyes and pray for light with every breath.

My pet has flown away

My pet has flown away

Now that my pet has flown,
Beyond the ocean vast and blue;
Leaving me to weep and mourn,
On my fate that’s ill and blue;
I can dream when I ‘m awake,
There’s no need to sleep at all.

Now that my pet has flown,
Towards her ancestral land,
My life is full of aches and pain,
There’s no remedy in doctor’s hand;
I feel the pain of being alone,
There’s no need to dream at all.

Now that my pet has flown,
From my hands which used to hold her gently;
Pain induced by fault of my own,
Has taken over every inch of body slowly;
I know the pain exists at hand,
There’s no need to feel at all.

Now that my pet has flown,
And her absence in life’s perceptible;
The thoughts of her is my night gown,
My state is obvious and detectable;
You’ll see the twinge on my face,
There’s no need to know at all.

My Ode to Life

My Ode to Life

Celestial creation sacred and precious,
Shapes on earth, grooms and returns;
After witnessing songs, sweet and vicious,
To bare consequences that cools or burns.

The soul I speak of, bares the burden,
Carries scrolls of life on his shoulders;
No doubt that he is life’s true warden,
Life that could be as sweet as flowers.

Cohorts of divine books concur,
To classify life in three segments;
Pre-earth, earth and post-earth they say,
Thus life prevails into eternity.

Once created we live on,
Caged in a shell we term as life,
But is it a game or only dreams?
Is there a meaning for life at all?

We drift along the stream of time,
With no mission, no determination;
Thus such a life is worth no dime,
And we look at life with floccinaucinihilipilification.

A dime a dozen is life for a soul,
Who treats it with reverence and embraces god;
No pain no gain if heart your calls,
As fruit of pain you’ll seek the god.

Note: "My Ode to Life" has the longest word ever used in a poem.

Apophis

Apophis

Symbol of evil, darkness and destruction,
Threat to souls of Keme dwellers,
Demon sworn to plunge the world into eternal darkness,
Seeks renaissance in decades to come.

Doth it scare us to seek revenge?
Or hath he come as wrath from god?
Make your soul as pure as dew drops,
Brace yourself, confess to god.

Massive in size, terrifying in looks,
Scares the scholars nearly to bereavement,
Approaches us right from emptiness,
Apophis the demon of destruction.

As rustics dance and drink on earth,
Into the Atlantic he will land,
Huge tsunamis and darkest of skies,
Will fill our world indefinitely.

My Violin

She would think that I have forgotten her,
As she rests all alone, in her coffin,
It’s totally dark in there for her.
Neither is there light for me in her absence.

I've had hundred dreams or more to touch her again,
Wipe her gently with that soft orange cloth,
And strike the bow softly against the strings,
To fill my life with joy and music once again.
